 The men's first match against Hinstock 2 was a fixture they should have won but just too many errors cost them the match.  In the first round rubbers Dave and partner BenSyrett-Judd won in straights sets 6-3, 6-3 but the second pair of Andy Field and Brett Hollywell just lost out on the deciding set tie break after taking the first set 6-4 but dropping the second 4-6.  In the reverse rubbers Dave & Ben lost the first set 4-6 and after taking the second set convincingly 6-0 again lost out on the tie break. Andy and Brett went down in straight sets in their second rubber 3-6, 3-6.

 In their second outing, and with a slight change in the squad line up, they redeemed themselves with an eight nil drubbing away to Shrewsbury 5. Dave & Ben took both their rubbers in straight sets 6-3, 6-1 and 6-4, 7-5 whilst Brett, who partnered Gilbert Woolley playing on his debut, were utterly dominant in their rubbers 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0,6-2.  This gave the Oswestry team all of the eight available points.

 The team.. The first  pair  of Captain David Clough partnered by Ben Syrett-Judd won their first rubber in straight sets but just lost out on the second rubber on the deciding third set tie break.  But the heroes of the night were the second pair of Brett Hollywell and Gilbert Woolley who were  successful  in  both  their  rubbers  winning  in  straight  sets  and  so  the  team achieved a good victory taking seven of the available eight points.

 The Oswestry men’s second team achieved a whitewash in their latest home fixture against Hollies 3 of Whitchurch.  Captain Dave Clough and his partner Ben Syrett-Judd took their first rubber 6-2, 7-5 with Ben volleying with confidence at the net. The second pair of Brett Hollywell and Gilbert Woolley also won in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.  The reverse rubbers reflected the superiority of the Oswestry side with both pairs winning in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2 and 6-2, 7-5 respectively.

 The men’s second team travelled to Newport to play Boughey Gardens the team who are currently in top spot in their group so they knew they were up against a good side. The first round rubbers went the way of their opponents with both pairs of David Clough and Ben Syrett-Judd and Brett Hollywell and Gilbert Woolley losing out on the third set deciding tie break after both dropping the first set and then fighting their way back by taking the second set 4-6, 6-1, 0-1 and 2-6, 7-5,0-1 respectively. In the reverse rubbers Clough and Syrett-Judd steadied the ship with a straight sets win 7-5, 6-4 but Hollywell and Woolley went down 2-6, 6-7.

 The team had a their next fixture the same week at home to Wollerton with Clough and Syrett-Judd losing against the opposing first pair on a third set tie break 6-2, 2-6, 0-1 but beating the second pair in the tie break 6-2, 4-6, 1-0.  Hollywell and  Woolley won in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 against Wollerton’s second pair but having sustained  an  injury  during  their  second  rubber  Woolley  was  forced  to  retire awarding  the  opposition  the  rubber.  With  the  result  at  two  rubbers  each Wollerton were award a six points to two victory by virtue of winning an extra set.
